DISINFECTING CAVING GEAR
AND CLOTHING TO PROTECT BATS
FROM WHITE NOSE SYNDROME

This short video demonstrates the proper methods of disinfecting cavers' clothing and equipment in order to minimize the likelihood of transporting the still poorly-understood cause of WNS from an infected cave to a non-infected one.

The video was produced by a team from the Invasive Species Division of the USDA Forest Service, headed by Mike Ielmini, and cavers from the Virginia Region of the NSS, coordinated by Carol Zokaites. It was shot at Grand Caverns, Virginia, in May 2010.
