On Saturday, November 14, a group of four cavers were surveying in the downstream maze area of Fletchers Cave in West Virginia. Buzz Rudderow took a 12 foot fall when an arch or bridge of alluvial material collapsed. He landed on his behind on stream gravel and amazingly suffered no injury. The alluvial material was reportedly very solid looking and had been crossed previously when on of the group reconnoitered ahead.
