Meteor Shower Viewing + Caving

August 11-13, 2017

To witness the Perseids Meteor Shower in all its glory, there will be a DCG beginner-friendly caving trip weekend at the PSC Fieldhouse in Smoke Hole, WV (near Franklin, WV) on August 11-13. The Perseids Meteor Shower should peak on Saturday night.

Trip to Hamilton will be lead by Earl and Cheryl Suitor; 10 people max, 5 hour trip. We will be going to the Duck Room, where 2 groups can split off to either be more adventurous or go on a less intense route to a decorated room. Hamilton trip will meet Earl at 11 am at the nearby parking lot.

If there are enough people, another trip to Sharps will be led by Donnie, leaving the house at 10 am. If weather permits, there will also be people going rock climbing instead of caving Saturday, so bring your climbing gear if interested.

Sharps, Sinks of Gandy, and Hamilton Caves are all novice-friendly and horizontal. This trip is open to everyone receiving this, their friends and family. Someone will be opening up the house around 6:30 pm Friday.

Please contact: Donnie Hammond or Nina Rao if you wish to join the trip!
