The Utah Cave Survey website is now up. The database functionality that was originally housed on the Salt Lake Grotto website has been ported to the new site. The database is now disabled on the Salt Lake Grotto site.

Database History
The cave database was written in late 2005 by Duane McCully as part of the new Salt Lake Grotto website. Although its existence was kept quiet, by the end of 2006, over 200 caves had been entered into the database with accurate GPS coordinates including all of the caves in the Tony Grove Project. In addition, dozens of maps and photos were uploaded and attached to these records. In 2010, Brandon Kowallis formally organized the Utah Cave Survey with the intention that it would become the new home for the cave database. On May 20, 2011, that became a reality with the release of the new website.

Being a member of either the Salt Lake Grotto or the Utah Grotto will get you a login to the Utah Cave Survey. This login, however, does not give you access to "all the info." Rather, it gives you the ability to add new cave records or to unlock existing cave record by entering their GPS coordinates. In other words, if you have collected GPS coordinates at every cave that you have ever been to, you will be able to see information about every cave you have ever visited.
