The entrance to Baker Caverns is under the front porch of this house. See open door. A view from inside the door. The right wall in this picture is the foundation under the front door. Stairs descend into the cave. About 30 feet from the bottom of the stairs, the first formation occurs. Ann poses, Jon behind.

Baker Caverns operated as a commercial cave until 1954. In the lower levels, the concrete sidewalk has been covered over with hard packed mud. We were instructed to stay on the walking trail. Travertine canopy known as the .....
