Conservation/Restoration Workshop Session

(includes Restoration Workshop, Conservation Session, & Section Meeting)

Coordinated by Val Hildreth-Werker, George Huppert, & Jim Werker

From prevention of cave damage to formation repair, presenters will seek caver interaction as they offer new research on low-impact strategies. Proven techniques will be discussed. Speleothem repair and restoration workshops will be conducted. Topics will include trail definition, preserving microbes, addressing urban pollutants, formation repair, cave-safe graffiti removal, construction debris removal, conservation-wise exploration and survey, new techniques in formation cleaning, inventory tools, impact mapping, and conservation ethics.
