This Award is given annually to the NSS Internal Organization that does the most for cave conservation and management. This is a continuation of the former NSS Conservation Award, that was awarded from 1975 to 1993. After the NSS changed its award a few years ago to one given to an Individual or IO for outstanding service to cave conservation over a number of years, the Section decided to continue to offer the old award in order to encourage NSS Internal Organizations to work for cave conservation.
The award consists of a rotating plaque with the name of the recipient engraved on it, and $100.
