The Vertical Training Commission (VTC) is structured as a national commission within the National Speleological Society (NSS), tasked with overseeing vertical training of interested cavers within the United States. To do this, VTC helps define the vertical competencies and educational materials needed to train interested cavers through grottos, as well as regional and national events. VTC is structured with a board, curriculum committee, trainer qualification committee, advisory board, and staff that currently includes a webmaster, data management coordinator, recording secretary, and scholarship coordinator, as well as master trainers and trainers. We also need help with data management, fundraising, and a number of other functions.

Please visit our Open Positions page to learn more about specific current volunteer opportunities. If you would like to let us know more about how you can help VTC fulfill our mission, please complete the form below!
