How to Use the Library
The Library is staffed by volunteers and is not open on a fixed schedule.
Please call ahead before visiting so someone can let you in and show you around. After-hours or weekend visits may be arranged with the librarian under special circumstances. Visitors are welcome to browse the collection, but materials cannot be checked out. Group visits are available. Photocopies are available for a fee. Contact the librarian for research assistance.
If you can't visit in person, the librarian can answer simple research questions, perform literature searches (usually producing a bibliography), and make copies of articles. Copyright restrictions may prevent copying of certain materials; in those cases, the librarian will contact you with details. A fee may apply for research that requires significant time.
Please be as narrow and specific as possible with your research request. You can search the online Library Catalog using the link above. The Library Catalog is a work in progress and does not contain all of the items in the collection. If you do not find what you are looking for, contact the librarian. NSS publications are available online for members here. We do not give out cave locations.
