
Event Overview
This NCRC Orientation to Cave Rescue seminar is an intensive 2+-day introduction to cave rescue techniques. This awareness-level course is designed to help cavers, outdoor professionals, and first responders understand what cave rescue is all about. An important outcome is to help people become safer cavers, focused on prevention as well as preplanning. Topics covered in the course will include preventing and preparing for common caving-related problems, search, communications, Incident Command System, basic medical skills, patient packaging, moving patients through obstacles, psychological considerations, and critical thinking skills.
