Welcome to RASS!

The Richmond Area Speleological Society is a caving grotto based in Richmond, Virginia, though we draw our membership from all over Central Virginia. Come join us to talk about upcoming events, recent trips and trip reports, and other caving stuff. We meet the second Thursday each month at the Department of Wildlife Resources located at 7870 Villa Park Dr, Richmond, VA 23228, from 7:00 PM to approximately 8:15 PM.

URGENT & IMPORTANT:

* * * * SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE: The February RASS meeting will be held Thursday, February 10th, 7:00 PM at the Atlee Branch Library, 9212 Rutlandshire Drive, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Please note this is a change "FROM" the 1st Thursday night of the month "TO" the 2nd Thursday night. There is also a pre-meeting dinner at 5:45 PM at PBR, Pizza and Beer of Richmond, 9325 Chamberlayne Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116 for anyone interested. This is next to the Atlee Library. * * * *

*** REMINDER: Until further notice, the RASS Monthly Meetings WILL NOT be held at the Department of Wildlife Resources due to COVID restrictions. The location of the monthly meeting will vary each month and the RASS membership will be notified by RASS Gmail and/or the RASS Facebook page. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT THE MEETING LOCATION, CONTACT A BOARD MEMBER.

> The Richmond Area Speleological Society, RASS, supports cave conservation and education about caves and cave resources through awarding grants. We continue to seek worthwhile causes to support. If you have a project which furthers the goals of cave conservation and karst education, please email us at rass-grants-committee@googlegroups.com.

> If your Grotto or Region is looking for new caves to explore in the Virginia area, RASS can offer your group a place to camp in Bath County, VA. There are more than 100 caves within an hour drive. We support cave conservation and education. Email Richie Ellison at RASSmail2016@gmail.com for additional information.
