Division Heads are responsible for overseeing the core functions that keep the National Speleological Society running smoothly and effectively. They report directly to the Executive Director and form a collaborative leadership team that helps steer the strategic direction of the organization.

Working together, they manage day-to-day operations, make key decisions, and ensure that all efforts across divisions are aligned with the NSS mission.

There are seven Division Heads, each managing a specific area of focus: Communications, Education & Training, Conservation & Science, Facilities, Membership, Operations, and Secretary-Treasurer. These leaders guide teams of volunteers and work closely with committees, grottos, and members nationwide to develop programs, drive initiatives, and strengthen the NSS community. Whether organizing national events, leading conservation projects, supporting cave science, or enhancing member engagement, Division Heads play a vital role in shaping the future of the NSS.
