Graphic Arts Salon: Cover Art, Posters, Postcards, & Brochures - Exhibition of printed cave art

The purpose of the Graphic Arts Salon is to exhibit and encourage excellence in the design and images on the covers of cave publications.

ENTRIES: All entries must be mailed to Blake N Jördan, 11 N. Central Avenue, Suite 11, Staunton, VA 24401, accompanied by the entry form, and received no later than April 30, 2025. The entry fee is $5.00 per organization plus $1.00 per entry (two entries would be an entry fee of $7.00). Payment can be made via PayPal or credit card via form below, or by check or money order sent to the Graphic Arts Salon Chair along with your entries. Please make checks or money orders payable to "NSS". Covers must be from newsletters or other publications of NSS-affiliated organizations which were distributed in 2023 or have never before entered in this salon. Entries should be mailed unfolded and unmounted in a large envelope, preferably with a cardboard stiffener and accompanied by the entry form. Entries will be considered donations to the NSS and not returned.

CATEGORIES: Covers will be judged in one of two categories:

(1) Non-photographic
(2) Photographic

Please note on the back of each cover in which of the two categories you wish the entry to be judged. Print online covers out in paper form before submittal.

ENTRY FORM: The information on the entry form will be used as a display card beneath your entry.  Please cut out each display card prior to mailing so that it is ready for display.

RIGHTS AND CONDITIONS:
All entrants retain copyright and all moral and intellectual rights to their work. Credit will be included with all objects displayed. The NSS requests the following rights, which are optional. Indicate your agreement with any or all by marking the box(es) on the entry form:

 The NSS may use images of these covers in publications and on Web sites to announce the winners of this competition, for not more than one year.
 The NSS may use images of winning covers in publications and on its Web site for the purpose of promoting future competitions, for not more than four years. Web images will not exceed 600 pixels in width or height.
 The NSS may use images of these covers in low resolution in a CD/DVD of all entries. These images will not exceed 1024 pixels in width or height. This CD/DVD will be lent to NSS members for viewing at no charge.

JUDGING: Judging will occur prior to convention. Judges reserve the right to alter categories where deemed necessary.  If you have questions, e-mail Blake at the address below.
