2025 Chili Cook-Off at Lone Star Preserve

You are invited to the Louisville Grotto’s annual Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser and Open House event! This is the Louisville Grotto’s second largest fundraiser for the year. The event is open to the public, so bring your friends and family!

The Annual Chili Cook-off is about getting to know the Louisville Grotto and the Lone Star Preserve while keeping cavers out of the woods on opening day of hunting season. Activities throughout the day include property tours, on-property cave trips, hay rides (weather permitting), a silent auction, playground, and of course the Chili Competition!

Chili:

Your Chili entries need to be submitted and ready for judging by 3pm CST/4pm EST.
No late entries. Late arrivals will still be served just not judged.
No cost to enter. Multiple entries allowed. Entries are highly encouraged to be in crockpots, bring a serving ladle.

Food will be served immediately following announcement of Chili Cook-off winners.
Not into making chili: bring a side dish, toppings or dessert.

Property Tours:

Tours will be available throughout the day, weather permitting.

Silent Auction:

open from 3pm CST to 7pm CST.
If you have gently used/new gear or crafted item you want to donate as an auction item, bring it along.
Cash or card(with a fee) accepted for payment

Camping:

Non-members can start arriving Friday at 6pm 5pm CST.
A $10 donation per night per non-member is encouraged but not required.
Be prepared for it to be very cold at night.
