How Shelta Cave and the NSS Found Each Other
Produced by Ken Bailey. William “Bill” Torode NSS 5013RL OS-LB-FE has been involved with Shelta Cave in Huntsville, Alabama since cavers started caving there. His first trip was in 1959. Bill was on the first mapping crew in 1966. He has been a steward of the cave since. Bill was there when the NSS bought the cave in 1968. “Since I live across the street it is easy for me to keep the weeds trimmed and the gate repaired. Bill has been the NSS Librarian since 1975.
