The Recovery of Petra

Produced by Dave Socky. A large cat skeleton was discovered deep in Burja Cave in southwest Virginia. It was deemed important enough to be collected, so in October 2021 a team of cavers and paleontologist Dr Alex Hastings descended into the cave to recover the cat skeleton. This program documents the process, the science, and the methods used to dig out the skeleton, pack it safely, and transport it out of the cave. This is the story of the recovery of Petra, the cat skeleton.
