Join us in Sewanee, Tennessee for the 2024 NSS Convention. Held on the campus of St. Andrew's-Sewanee School, 2024 marks a return to one of the premier caving areas in the United States.

The 300+ acre campus is the perfect place to hold convention events and access nearby caving. Camping for the event and sessions will both be located on site at the St. Andrew's Campus. Dorm rooms are available on site and the cafeteria will be open for breakfast and lunch. Check out the Lodging & Camping section of this site for additional options. The Caverns, a famous local show cave, will play host to the Awards Salon.

Come back to TAG in 2024 and experience world class vertical caving.

Important information about the Convention: 

ON-SITE REGISTRATION OPENS SATURDAY, 6/29, AT NOON!

Free on-site tent camping is available for registrants and attendees

The site property consists of 530 acres of fields and wooded areas for camping.
There will be designated quiet and noisy areas, both conveniently located to the activities.
Generators will not be allowed between the hours of 8pm and 8am. Water access is limited.
Showers and bathrooms in the gym are available for campers and porta-potties will be set out around the camping area.
Camper (trailers and pop-ups) are allowed in the camping areas(not the parking lots) and limited to a 14’ long fuselage/cabin length (not including the tongue).
Amenities include: 2 ponds, hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and an on-site rock climbing area.
No large RV camping at the Convention site as camping area parking is limited to standard length cars, vans, PU trucks and camping trailers meeting the above size limit.
No hookups are available on-site.  Small camping trailers meeting the parking length requirements are OK.

Pre-Convention Camp will be hosted by the Huntsville Grotto with camping at the NSS Headquarters on June 26 to 29, 2024. Indoor camping and outdoor camping will be available. There is no camping fee but there is a $5 per day charge for showers payable to the NSS.
Everyone must sign in at the NSS office and sign a waiver to camp. There will be horizontal and vertical trips. Guided and self-led trips will be available. Advisors will be available to help with the logistics of self-led trips. 

 

Post-Convention Camp will be held at Cavers Paradise just a short distance from the Convention site. This camp will begin on Saturday morning July 6, 2024 and will run until people are ready to leave. Amenities at the campground include a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. The campground also has a wood-fired sauna and hot tub available for your enjoyment. Members of the Sewanee Mountain Grotto and other area grottos will be leading some trips and assisting you to plan your own self led trips. A couple of paddle trips will be scheduled to see the evening bat flight at Nickajack Cave on Nickajack Lake, which is a short drive from Cavers Paradise. There is a $5 per person per night camping fee. No RSVP is needed, just show up after convention. Cavers Paradise is on Google Maps and it will take you right to the campground.
